The Story
The coronavirus pandemic and severe climate changes have resulted in hunger and malnourishment among children of poor farming families in remote villages in Mindanao. Their parents have a difficult time taking care of them and the need to provide food in order to improve their well-being is imperative.
Children who are malnourished often suffer from low cognition and would not do well in school when they grow-up. Unschooled children become a burden to the community and the downward spiral of poverty, powerlessness and malnourishment continue on and on.
Thus the need to provide food while they are young is vital.
We will target 200 children for this initiative and provide food on a continuous basis for at least 3 months.
